New Mexico Medicaid seeks public input on proposed “Medicaid Forward” plan

SANTA FE — New Mexico Medicaid will hold a virtual public meeting at 5:30 -7 p.m. MST, Tuesday, August 13 to obtain public input on “Medicaid Forward,” the plan described in HB 400 (2023) to expand Medicaid coverage to include more residents of the state.

The proposed plan would expand Medicaid coverage for any state of New Mexico resident under the age of 65 who is not otherwise eligible for Medicaid and has a household income greater than 133% of the federal poverty limit, approximately $3,400/month for a family of four.

The meeting will solicit broad input, as well as comments on specific issues, including Medicaid enrollment and the commercial market, provider reimbursement rates, access to health care, enrollee costs (premiums and cost sharing), and employer and employee impacts.

The virtual meeting will be held online on Zoom, Tuesday, Aug.13, 2024, 5:30 to 7 p.m. MST.
