New Mexico Health Care Authority unveils enhanced YES.NM.GOV portal

Revamped features streamline access to vital health and human services for New Mexicans

SANTA FE— The New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA) is proud to announce the launch of new and improved features on YES.NM.GOV, the state’s online portal for accessing health and human services.

The site now offers New Mexicans a streamlined experience to apply for, renew, and manage their services, including SNAP (food assistance), Medicaid (health care coverage), cash assistance, and more.

YES.NM.GOV will provide New Mexicans with a resource available 24/7, offering program recommendations that can help their families while making it easier to manage their benefits through a convenient, mobile-friendly site.

“Our improved YES.NM.GOV site is designed to be a true one-stop shop for New Mexicans seeking health care, food, and income support benefits,” said Kari Armijo, Secretary of the New Mexico Health Care Authority. “We have built a portal that reflects the diverse needs of our customers, making it easier for every New Mexican to access the support they need, when they need it.”

New Mexicans across the state provided feedback that drove the redesign of YES.NM.GOV. Volunteers from diverse communities including immigration experts, disability advocates, and multiple language testers participated in usability testing to ensure the site meets the needs of all New Mexicans.

“Our goal is to implement innovative technology that provides unparalleled, convenient access to services and information,” said Paula Morgan, HCA Chief Information Officer, “Our data shows more than 70% of New Mexicans prefer to contact us through digital methods, and we are using that data to create easier ways for them to receive services.”

The site also offers a new program recommendations tool that will enable New Mexicans to explore and learn about various health and human services programs. Once they are ready to apply, they will be able to track their application’s progress. They will also be able to link their online account to their cases to allow for seamless management of all benefits and services.

YES.NM.GOV will continue to evolve, with plans to integrate programs outside of HCA, ensuring New Mexicans have a single, comprehensive portal for all their health and human services needs.

The new features are a significant advancement in HCA’s Medicaid Management Information Replacement System (MMIS-R) project, designed to improve how New Mexicans apply for and manage their benefits.

###

What is the MMIS-R project?

The MMIS-R, or Medicaid Management Information System Replacement, is a critical initiative to modernize and replace the state’s current Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS). The primary goal of MMIS-R is to enhance Medicaid operations by creating a more customer-centered system that better supports individuals and families. This new system will improve access to Medicaid services for both customers and healthcare providers, ultimately leading to better health outcomes. Additionally, MMIS-R will enable the Health Care Authority (HCA) to engage with our customers and providers in the most efficient and accessible way possible.
