Benefits of Employment

Employee benefits are offered to eligible employees. An eligible employee includes anyone hired into a classified, exempt, probationary, temporary, term or hourly position, and who is scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week and whose term of employment when hired is for six or more months. All of the state’s benefit plans are available to every eligible State of New Mexico employee, regardless of where they live. Independent contractors are not eligible under the state benefit plan.
