The Mi Via Advisory Committee (MVAC) is an Advisory Council on Quality (ACQ) subcommittee that supports the Mi Via Self-Directed Waiver program in the following ways:
A maximum of seventeen members may be appointed to serve on the Mi Via Advisory Committee for either two or three-year terms, depending on the member’s role with Mi Via. Appointments are made by members of the Mi Via Advisory Committee.
Members of the Advisory Committee include Mi Via participants, Employer of Record (EOR) and other Mi Via stakeholders, such as a Legally Responsible Individuals (LRI) These may be parents of a minor participants or the spouse of a participant, another relative, guardian, representative, advocate, employee or direct service provider. In addition, membership will include one representative each from the consultant agencies.
MVAC members must be able to participate in most meetings.
The State Mi Via Waiver Program will strive for broad representation on the Mi Via Advisory Committee. For example, individuals from both urban and rural areas, a range of ages and all Mi Via categories, and individuals who have benefited from Mi Via and want to make it the best it can be.
Please be aware that the Mi Via Advisory Committee members are volunteers whose opinions do not necessarily represent the views of the New Mexico Health Care Authority.
The Mi Via Advisory Committee will meet approximately four times per year, with the location to be determined and announced prior to each meeting. Meetings will be at least two hours in length and can be attended in-person or by phone.
